Do you have a oil or fuel problem in your bilge? “Bilge Mate” is the answer, it is a highly efficient 300 x 180 x 30mm mat which is capable of absorbing 25 times its own weight in fuel or oil but will not absorb any water. Australian made and BilgeMate is non- toxic and inert.
So how does it work – you take BilgeMate out of its packet and tether in the bilge.
It simply floats on the bilge water and won’t sink or disintegrate when full.
Simply place in the bilge to absorb fuel and oil on the surface of bilge water.
Remove when saturated and then palce back in the packet for disposal. Please dispose of it thoughfully and in accordance with local environmental guidelines.

What is the capacity of BilgeMate – Oil Absorbent Bilge Mat actually hold before it’s saturated?
It is rated to absorb 25 times its own weight in fuel or oil. If you have an ongoing issue with oil or fuel, replace the mat with a new one when it is full or saturated. If it was a one-off event then dispose of the saturated bilge mat appropriately.
Will the mat only absorb oil and fuel, what about water?
It is designed to absorb fuel and oil while not absorbing water. Oil and fuel float on water. The special design allows the mat to float on top of the water, where the oil and fuel will be sitting. it also won’t sink during its use.
Is it an easy cleanup, what happens when the bilge mat is full?
The mat will continue to absorb fuel and oil until full, it won’t disintegrate when full, it stays intact while saturated. So cleanup is easy: just remove it from the water, put it back in its packaging, and dispose of it appropriately.
Is BilgeMate only for boats?
No, BilgeMate is non-toxic and bio-degradable solution that can be used in any water that you wish to remove oil or fuel from. Use it anywater location with oil or fuel floating on the surface. Not recommended for liquids other than water. Designed with boats and watercraft in mind it’s design lends to other applications where oil or fuel has been mixed by accident with a body of water and needs removal.
