Boat Hut Insight
When selecting a water holding tank for your vessel, consider not only the capacity but also the flexibility of plumbing connections. This tank’s multiple 1½” BSP ports give you the freedom to customise your setup without hassle, but remember: cutting into the tank to create ports requires precision to avoid leaks. A handy tip is to plan your plumbing layout in advance and mark the exact port positions before drilling.
Also, polypropylene tanks are lightweight and corrosion-resistant, making them ideal for marine environments, but they can be vulnerable to UV degradation over time. If your tank will be exposed to sunlight, consider applying a UV protective coating or installing it in a shaded area to extend its lifespan.
And finally, a little humour for boat owners: if you’re tempted to “upgrade” your tank size, remember that water weighs approximately 1 kilogram per litre—so a 60 litre tank adds 60 kilograms to your boat’s load. It’s not just about space but also about stability and fuel efficiency!
