Inspection Ports
Polypropylene ABS moulded nylon construction with screw in centres, weatherproofing ‘O’ ring seal and wide caulking flange. Available in three sizes with a choice of black or white with solid or clear centres. Models are available complete with a storage bag ideal for wallets, keys and similar.

Warning: Use the correct drill or router cutter to create the cut-out. Check for wiring, fuel lines or structural members behind the installation surface before cutting. Use marine-grade sealant when installing on hull or deck penetrations.

These inspection ports are great for access and small dry storage, but consider how the cover finish will weather in direct sun: white will hide minor surface chalking, while black can show heat-induced gloss loss faster. If you store electronics or documents, fit the clear lid variants only where you need to visually check contents—otherwise the solid lids reduce UV exposure and light-induced deterioration.
Practical tip: always fit the correct size O ring for the inside diameter and use a thin bead of polyurethane marine sealant under the caulking flange. When mounting on composite surfaces, use nylon or stainless steel washers under the screw heads to spread load and prevent the flange cracking over time.
Buying tip: if you plan to store valuables or frequent small items, get one of the models supplied with the storage bag — it’s a simple convenience that often gets overlooked but saves the hassle of loose items rattling around bilges.
