Combine this with the superior SeaStar Solutions design team, rigid ISO quality control and teamed with the finest materials and precision manufacturing BayStar continues the tradition of bringing comfort and safety to boating.
BayStar is NOT recommended in applications with high steering effort (i.e. such as those using high-performance engines or boats capable of attaining high speeds), customers should consider upgrading the system to SeaStar/SeaStar Pro steering. This will reduce the steering effort due to the fact that SeaStar steering provides more output power resulting in lower steering effort.

- Requires 3″ (76mm) cut-out hole in dash (Helm)
- Requires 21″ (534mm) splashwell width.
CAUTION
DO NOT use BayStar on smaller HP outboard engines that use wing nut-type transom mount clamping screws.

Notes:
- Requires spacer kit 293690 (HO5090).
- Engine clamp brackets must be cut or ground, and the engine through bolted onto the transom, or interference will occur, restricting engine trim and tilt.
- Steering hook Yamaha Part #63D-48511-00-4D required.
- Cylinder 291071 may be used in these applications. The pivot plate will need to be flipped before installation.
- Johnson 115HP 2-stroke engines require the pivot plate to be flipped. See Note 4.
*Not suitable for 115-140HP. Suzuki motors manufactured in 1996 only. N.B. Dometic BayStar Plus is not recommended for Mercury 150HP Optimax DFI.

BAYSTAR STEERING KITS – Also Available
Complete BayStar kit (291561) providing the flexibility to enable the installer the ability to make whatever hydraulic hose length required, without the need for specialist swaged fittings. The two unique re-usable brass end fittings allow the installer to simply cut the hose to length and insert the brass connectors.
The complete kit includes 50-foot length of outboard hose, BayStar helm, BayStar front mount cylinder, hydraulic oil, rubber boot and two re-usable hose fittings.
